How does the Pawp Emergency Fund work?

Included in all memberships, the Pawp Emergency Fund provides up to $3,000 toward vet bills in case of an emergency. There are no deductibles, no copays, and no restrictions based on age, breed, location, or pre-existing conditions. An emergency is considered any unexpected, serious, or dangerous situation that requires immediate veterinary attention. This could include things like severe bleeding, toxic ingestion, or difficulty breathing.

In order to qualify for emergency funding you must first contact a Pawp veterinarian for an emergency evaluation via a video call or video recording. If the vet confirms that your situation is an emergency, you must visit any clinic of your choosing within four hours. How do I make a video call to a vet?

Calls are limited to 30 minutes; however, you can have as many conversations as needed.

You will have access to $3,000 each year you are a member; unused funds do not rollover. Once you’ve signed up with Pawp there’s a 5-day wait period before funds will be available.

Funds can only be used to cover emergencies. Your Pawp pet insurance will not cover planned surgeries or scheduled appointments, regular checkups and wellness visits, vaccinations, deworming, dental cleaning, prescription medications or medical tests unrelated to an emergency visit.
