ViscoSoft Review

ViscoSoft offers high-quality memory foam and hybrid mattresses that are made in the U.S. With ViscoSoft's all-American mattresses, you'll be able to support industry and jobs in the United States while getting a comfortable night of sleep every night.

TYPES

What bed sizes does ViscoSoft offer?

ViscoSoft ViscoSoft offers mattresses in Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King sizes. Single people may prefer any size bed, starting Twin, Twin XL, or Full sized beds, whereas couples may prefer Queen, King, or California King sizes.

What type of mattresses does ViscoSoft offer?

ViscoSoft gives customers two great mattresses to choose from so they can find one that suits their sleeping style and favorite level of support.

Both types of mattresses offered by ViscoSoft are made in the United States using quality materials, but the versions differ when it comes to what materials are used. Having two distinct mattresses that use a combination of different materials allows for all types of sleepers to find a mattress that works well for them. ViscoSoft mattresses will suit all body types and sleep styles with their two well-designed mattresses.

  • The Edge Mattress: This medium-firm mattress is made of memory foam and comes with a washable cooling cover that will appeal to hot sleepers. Side sleepers and back sleepers will appreciate how well this mattress helps to relieve pain from pressure points. Since this is a medium-firm mattress, you won't get as much of that sinking-in feeling some people hate about memory foam.
  • The Edge Hybrid Mattress: Some people find memory foam beds too hot to sleep in comfortably, and if you're worried about feeling the heat, the Edge Hybrid mattress may be a good choice for you. Since it adds coils into the design, it's cooler than a standard memory foam bed. The coils add more support while allowing for more airflow. This one is a bit softer than the Edge, with a medium firmness level.

Which ViscoSoft mattress type is best?

ViscoSoft stands behind both of its mattress models and offers them in a variety of sizes for single sleepers and couples. To help you make the most of your sleep, they throw in a washable cooling cover. Plus, when you buy a mattress, ViscoSoft adds in a bundle that includes a mattress protector, two active dry pillows, and an organic cotton sheet set for free.

Which sleeping position is best for ViscoSoft mattresses?

Since ViscoSoft offers mattresses that are medium-firm and a slightly softer medium version, they are a universal crowd-pleaser no matter what type of sleeping style you have. Whether you sleep on your back, stomach, or side, you'll benefit from pressure point relief and soft support. Heavier body types will be better suited for the Edge Hybrid, which offers more support. Those who struggle with pain while using other mattresses will benefit from either ViscoSoft mattress.

Which body type is best for ViscoSoft mattresses?

ViscoSoft's Edge mattress might be a tad too plush for some stomach sleepers. Since it has a thick layer of memory foam, those with above-average body weight might find they sink down more than might be comfortable if they sleep on their stomachs. Stomach sleepers might be better off with the Edge Hybrid, even though it's a softer mattress overall.

COMFORT

Is a ViscoSoft mattress firm or soft?

Since finding a great night of sleep is such an individual matter, it can help to find a mattress that doesn't go too far in either direction. An overly soft mattress may make a person extremely uncomfortable while another person thinks it feels good. That also applies to a super firm mattress -- one sleeper will think it's ideal while another person might consider it painful to sleep upon. To help consumers get a great night of sleep every night, ViscoSoft opted to use a good middle-of-the-road approach for its mattresses.

Medium: The Edge Hybrid offers medium support, making it a bit softer than ViscoSoft's other mattress.

Medium-Firm: The Edge mattress is medium-firm, so it's a good compromise for couples who share a bed but have different ideas about what firmness level is most comfortable.

Both of the mattresses have a similar feel, though, with the Edge Hybrid being slightly softer so either would work well for couples. If one sleeper prefers a soft mattress while another likes an ultra-firm model, either mattress would be a good compromise that would still result in each sleeper feeling comfortable at night.

Both the Edge and the Edge Hybrid use a thick layer of memory foam to help relieve a sleeper's pressure points, so either mattress is great for pain relief in the back, shoulders, hips, and neck. These mattresses are good for all types of sleepers, including the side, back, and stomach.

While the Edge is a good bet for a variety of sleepers, those who like even more support may enjoy the Edge Hybrid more. It features the same memory foam that makes the Edge a winner, but it also includes individually wrapped coil springs that add even more support. People who are extremely tall or have an above-average weight might find they do better with the extra support the coils offer.

Does ViscoSoft provide back support?

With ViscoSoft's well-designed multiple-layered mattresses, customers will get great back support. Many of ViscoSoft's customers rave about how much better their backs feel since they've started using their new mattresses. With its individually-wrapped coil springs and its thick layer of memory foam, the Edge Hybrid mattress seems to offer the most benefit when it comes to reducing back pain.

Does ViscoSoft relieve pain?

It's hard to sleep when you toss and turn all night because of back pain, and when you wake up in the morning with a sore back, it's difficult to get the most out of your day. Since back pain is such a common complaint among sleepers, ViscoSoft came up with two different mattress models that can help alleviate back pain.

Many people who have left reviews about the Edge and the Edge Hybrid mattresses have noted how much their back pain improved when they started using ViscoSoft mattresses. That relief can be attributed to the mattresses' careful and well-thought-out designs. These mattresses were made to align to and support the natural curve of your spine and body while being resilient so they can go back into shape when you get up each morning.

The Edge has six layers, and each one plays a key role in reducing pain and improving sleep. The bottom layer is a jacquard knitted cover that uses anti-slip beads to ensure your mattress doesn't move around. The next layer up is six inches of foundational foam, which helps create stability.

The third layer from the bottom is faux latex which gives a slightly bouncy feel and prevents you from sinking too far into the bed. On top of that sits a two-inch plush memory foam layer that relieves pressure. The second layer from the top is another two inches of memory foam -- this layer is injected with silver for antimicrobial features. The top layer is the cooling cover that hot sleepers love so much.

The Edge Hybrid offers seven layers, with the inclusion of six inches of individually wrapped spring coils that offer even more support and stability for people with back pain or for those who weigh more than average. Since the coils are individually wrapped, you have less motion transfer than you would with traditional springs if you or your partner moves around a lot because of pain during the night. That means the person who is sleeping soundly will continue to do so.

With the clever designs of both mattresses and the quality materials that are used, both mattresses will continue to offer enough comfort and support to help people avoid pain year after year. Whether your pain is typically on your hips, shoulders, neck, or back when you're sleeping, both of ViscoSoft's mattresses will help you avoid painful pressure points so you can wake up with less pain every day.

Does the ViscoSoft mattress keep cool at night?

While memory foam beds sometimes have a reputation for being excessively hot, ViscoSoft addresses that in its Edge Hybrid mattress by adding coil springs, which provide more air circulation while they beef up your level of support. Both the Edge and the Edge Hybrid come with a cooling cover that will help you feel cooler and refreshed each night.

MATERIALS

ViscoSoft Construction

With six layers, the Edge mattress is carefully constructed using faux latex and memory foam for support. The Edge Hybrid adds in a seventh layer -- the individually wrapped coil springs. Each layer contributes to the unique, comfortable feel of the mattresses.

What are ViscoSoft mattresses made from?

For its Edge Hybrid mattress, ViscoSoft uses both individually pocketed spring coils and memory foam for a mattress that is slightly softer than the Edge is. Those spring coils combat any motion transfer you'll feel when sleeping with a partner, which means if they toss and turn, you may not wake up. The faux latex used will keep you from sinking into the mattresses too much.

As an added bonus, each mattress comes with a cooling cover so sleepers won't feel too hot. It's made with phase-changing yarn and it will stay as cool as the ambient room temperature.

Does the ViscoSoft mattresses come in a box?

ViscoSoft mattresses arrive at your doorstep compressed in a package for easier shipping. Once you open the box, you should let it expand for up to 24 hours before using it.

Does ViscoSoft need a special foundation?

Sleeping is a highly individualized activity. Not everybody likes sleeping on a conventional foundation, and with ViscoSoft mattresses, you have plenty of options about how you want to sleep. If bed frames are your thing, these mattresses are compatible with every type of bed frame, even adjustable ones, because no box spring is needed. If you like using box springs, you can, and you can even use a slatted frame.

If you'd rather use a platform than a conventional bed frame, you're free to do so. You can even place the mattress right on the floor if you'd like. To get the most support, ViscoSoft does recommend a non-spring foundation or using a bed frame that has less than four inches between the slats.

How you use your mattress can influence how long it will hold up. You should keep in mind, though, that ViscoSoft's 10-year warranty can become void if they determine your foundation isn't up to their standards. The warranty explicitly states it will not cover the mattress if there is a performance issue because it doesn't have the proper foundation or bed frame. So, if you're considering placing your mattress directly on the floor, you can, but your might be voiding your warranty by doing so.

Caring for your ViscoSoft mattress

In addition to considering whether you should use a foundation for your mattress, you should also be aware of the basic things you should do to get the most out of your new mattress. When it arrives at your doorstep, you should unpackage it and wait for it to expand for at least a few minutes before trying it out. To get the full effect, you may want to wait 24 hours before sleeping on it.

While you might be used to flipping your traditional mattress occasionally, you shouldn't do that with either of these ViscoSoft mattresses. If you flip it, it won't be comfortable at all. You should only be sleeping on it when it has the gray, cooling side face up.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

ViscoSoft Delivery

If you went to a traditional brick-and-mortar mattress store, you would pay a delivery fee unless you were hauling your mattress home in your own truck or trailer. Some online mattress companies charge their customers a shipping fee, but ViscoSoft doesn't. It will ship your new mattress to you for free right to your doorstep. Since it's made in the U.S. and doesn't have to travel overseas, it will reach your home in a week or sooner.

ViscoSoft Return Policy

Buying a mattress online when you haven't tested it out can be worrisome. It's normal to wonder what will happen if you don't like it, and how much of a headache the return process will be. To help take some of the risks away from your purchase, ViscoSoft offers a 120-night trial. If you test it out and don't like it, you can return it during that time period for a full refund.

They provide a convenient, simple online form on their website that you can use to start the return process. You will be asked why you want to return the mattress, along with your name, email address, order number, and which online website you purchased it from. If you'd rather skip the online form and call ViscoSoft instead to facilitate your return process, you can do that as well. Since you must provide them with your order number if you wish to return your mattress, you should make sure that you save a copy of your order, just in case you want to return it before that 120-day window closes.

Before returning, one thing to be aware of is that ViscoSoft doesn't make it clear on their website whether there will be a shipping fee for returning their mattress. Some mattress companies require the customer to either discard or donate the mattress instead of shipping it back since it has been used. It's not clear if ViscoSoft follows that same policy or if you'll be shipping it back to them. If you decide to return your mattress and fill out the initial online form for the return, the customer service staff will give you additional instructions about how to complete your return. If you have any questions during the process, you can reach out at any time to that department and they'll lead you through the process.

ViscoSoft Financing Options

Paying for a new mattress in one lump sum isn't easy for everybody. If you can't afford to pay for your mattress upfront, ViscoSoft offers financing options through Affirm. These payment plans allow you to stretch your payments over three, 12, or 18 months so you can get your monthly installment down to a low amount that may fit into your budget.

To see if you qualify for financing, you can fill out a short form on ViscoSoft's website. You'll only need to fill out five pieces of information about yourself, and then the company will do a soft check on your credit that won't result in any change to your credit score. It's a risk-free way to check out your financing options.

If you're accepted by Affirm, there are a few things you should know before making a decision about whether to finalize your plan for financing through them. You should be aware that you may be required to hand over a down payment, especially if your credit rating isn't as high as they'd like it to be.

You also should be prepared for a wild variation in what you may be offered when it comes to your annual percentage rate. You may be pleasantly surprised by the rate you're offered. If you have an excellent credit history, you may be financed at a no-interest rate. But, if your credit is shaky, you could pay an APR as high as 30 percent. Unless you're desperately in need of a new mattress, you may want to look at other options since that's an extremely high APR.

If you're considering financing, though, it doesn't hurt to look since the initial qualification check won't affect your credit score. If you apply and get unfavorable terms, you're under no obligation to accept the offer that's extended to you.

ViscoSoft Warranties

ViscoSoft stands by its mattresses by offering a 10-year warranty. Just remember your warranty may be voided if you don't use the proper platform or bed frame support.
