TYPES

What bed sizes does Awara offer?

Awara offers mattresses in Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King sizes.

What type of mattresses does Awara offer?

One of the main ways Awara stands out is the quality of the materials they use. From soft, organic New Zealand wool to organic cotton, you'll feel the difference with every touch.

Whether you sleep alone or with a partner, Awara's mattresses will offer support and comfort for any type of sleeper with their blend of coils and soft, comfortable latex.

  • Awara Premier Luxury Hybrid Mattress: Perfect for those looking for pressure relief and proper spinal alignment, the Premier Luxury Hybrid mattress features organic latex, organic wool, and individually wrapped coils, all enhanced by Thick Gauge Edge Support for optimal stability.
  • Awara Natural Luxury Hybrid Mattress: Crafted with 4 layers of premium materials, the Natural Luxury Hybrid mattress is made with GOLS & FSC-certified organic latex, GOTS-certified organic wool, and individually-wrapped coils providing an extremely comfortable and sustainable sleep solution.

Which Awara mattress type is best?

Awara wants to make sure everyone gets a great night of sleep every night. For that reason, they've designed both their mattresses to work for all types of sleepers. These universal mattresses can accommodate one sleeper or two, and if you're sleeping with a partner, you'll get a mattress with individually wrapped coils so you won't feel your partner move as much throughout the night.

Which sleeping position is best for Awara mattresses?

Awara mattresses work for any type of sleeper, from under-average weight to average weight and above-average weight. You'll be able to sleep deeply even if your partner moves around excessively at night. People who tend to have their sleep disrupted by achy, painful pressure points on the hips, shoulders, and other places throughout the night would do well with either of Awara's mattresses.

Which body type is best for Awara mattresses?

With their mattresses landing in the medium-firm range, Awara's mattresses may not be the best choice for those who like a very soft mattress they sink deeply into. For most side, back, and stomach sleepers, however, Awara's medium-firm mattresses are a great fit.

COMFORT

Is a Awara mattress firm or soft?

Awara knows that everybody has a preference when it comes to how soft or firm they'd like their mattress to be. Finding the right level of firmness can be the difference between getting poor sleep night after night or feeling well-rested each and every morning.

Both of Awara's mattresses are designed to fall into the medium-firm category, which is a popular firmness level because most sleepers can benefit from it. Sleeping on a medium-firm mattress can help alleviate shoulder and back pain, as well as help relieve back stiffness, so those who suffer from aches and pains in the morning and throughout the night may find that sleeping on either of Awara's mattresses improves how they feel.

Both of Awara's mattresses contain a layer of adaptive latex foam, which is great when it comes to providing relief to the pressure points on the legs, hips, and shoulders. Sleepers will benefit from the natural spinal alignment these medium-firm mattresses deliver, no matter which position they like to sleep in. Stomach sleepers, in particular, should sleep on a bed that is medium-firm to firm, instead of one that's soft. Sleeping on your stomach on a too-soft mattress can lead to severe neck and shoulder pain because your body will suffer from misalignment if you sink too far into your mattress, pushing your head and neck back.

Those who have only ever slept on soft or super firm mattresses and still wake up with aches and pains may benefit from switching to a middle-of-the-road mattress like Awara's Premium Natural Hybrid Mattress or their Natural Hybrid Mattress. Couples who can't agree on a firmness level may benefit from a medium-firm mattress as well. If one likes a soft mattress and the other likes a firm mattress, medium-firm can be a great compromise that will lead to comfortable, pain-free sleep for both of them.

Does Awara provide back support?

Both of Awara's mattresses provide amazing back support because of the combination of the layers of soft latex and the coil springs. Medium-firm mattresses like the ones offered by Awara are known for being an excellent choice for people who struggle with back pain.

Does Awara relieve pain?

In a randomized survey of Awara mattress owners that was conducted in 2022, nine out of ten users said their Awara mattress was more comfortable than their prior mattress and that it offered more support. Awara's website shares real feedback from customers, with many of them highlighting how much their pain levels have improved since using their Awara mattresses.

Senior citizens who have seen a gradual need for more support for their backs as they age have left positive feedback regarding their Awara mattresses. With the level of support these mattresses provide, many commented on how their back pain has improved since they started using an Awara mattress. With feedback from all types of sleepers -- including side, back, and stomach -- the comments are overwhelmingly positive when it comes to pain relief.

Since painful pressure points can lead to a lot of waking up and repositioning during sleep, it's helpful to look at that factor when it comes to mattress performance as well. Some side sleepers who used to toss and turn from side to side, increasing how many times they woke up during the night, have noted that they feel better rested each morning because they can sleep on one side all night. Since this bed is easy on the hips, it can lessen how frequently side sleepers have to roll over to change positions.

Awara mattresses also are a big hit with women in the later stages of pregnancy who struggle to find a comfortable position to sleep in. Women in the second and third trimesters say their back pain vanished or improved after they started using Awara mattresses.

The benefits of Awara mattresses go far beyond relieving bodily aches and pains though. Sometimes mattresses can cause other types of pain or discomfort when they're being used, such as breathing issues for those who have asthma, other respiratory issues, or problems breathing for those who have sensitivity to odors. Many customers noted how there was no off-gassing with these mattresses, even right out of the box. Since Awara has made a commitment to use natural, organic fabrics and avoid many of the potentially harmful or odor-producing chemicals other mattress companies often use, it's led to better sleep for those who worry about off-gassing or those who are sensitive to it.

When it comes to relieving bodily pain, not creating any aggravating factors for those with compromised lungs or breathing issues, or soothing the mind of those who worry about how environmentally-friendly their surroundings are, Awara ranks high in customer satisfaction.

Does the Awara mattress keep cool at night?

Hot sleepers can use Awara mattresses with confidence, thanks to its combination of coils and latex. The duo leads to improved air circulation, which means that people can stay cool and dry while they sleep, even year-round during the heat of summer. The naturally breathable properties of the organic cotton and New Zealand wool each mattress uses help with staying cool and comfortable during sleep.

MATERIALS

Awara Construction

Awara uses four layers on its Premier Luxury Hybrid Mattress -- a plush top made of organic cotton and organic New Zealand wool, a breathable natural Dunlop latex layer, the coil support core, and an easy move base. The Natural Luxury Hybrid Mattress offers all the same great layers, without the addition of the base. The coil support core features individually wrapped coils for less motion transfer and more breathability.

What are Awara mattresses made from?

One of the biggest perks of buying Awara mattresses is that you can have complete confidence in all the materials that are used in the mattress construction. They use natural materials such as rainforest Alliance-certified natural Dunlop latex that is sourced from real rubber trees, organic cotton, and 100 percent organic New Zealand wool and all of our mattresses are GOLS, FSC, and GOTS Certified.

Their natural latex foam won't have other undesirable substances such as PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP flame retardants, lead, mercury, formaldehyde, chlorofluorocarbons, phthalates that are regulated by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, and ozone-depleting substances. You'll be able to tell the difference when you smell your new mattress. You won't notice any off-gassing or unpleasant odors.

Does the Awara mattresses come in a box?

Awara mattresses will arrive at your doorstep compressed in weatherproof packaging. Once you unpack it and unroll it, you can put it on the base of your bed.

Does Awara need a special foundation?

To help keep your new Awara mattress in the best condition possible, it's recommended to place the mattress on a frame or box spring. Keeping the mattress off of the floor will help you get the best performance when it comes to breathability and support. If you don't have a frame or you want to upgrade your old one, Awara does offer three different bed frames to their customers.

The first one is a simple platform bed frame that doesn't have a headboard. There is also an adjustable frame that allows for a variety of positions, and the third option is a bed frame with a headboard, which is the most popular frame model Awara sells.

If you do decide to keep your mattress on the floor, with no base or frame to support it, you should be aware that may impact the Forever Warranty offered by Awara. The warranty, which doesn't have a time limit, is one of the best ones offered by a mattress company since it covers any damage to your mattress that occurs from normal use. If you plan on keeping your mattress on the floor, you should check with Awara before buying if you're concerned it will void the warranty.

Caring for your Awara mattress

Before using new mattresses that are made with chemical materials, customers are often warned to avoid sleeping on the mattress for at least 24 hours to give that unpleasant chemical odor time to dissipate. Since Awara mattresses are made without any foul-smelling chemicals, you're able to use it the same night it arrives at your house.

It's a good idea to rotate mattresses once a year if you'd like to keep it feeling balanced or like new. If you spill something on your mattress, you should clean it with a damp sponge and a tiny bit of soap.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Awara Delivery

The shipping times for Awara mattresses will vary, but delivery generally takes two to five days. Your mattress will be delivered to your doorstep rolled up in a weatherproof package. Since it's rolled up, it will be easy to carry into your bedroom for the setup and will fit into any doorway, no matter how narrow.

It's a good idea to take it in its unopened package into the bedroom before opening it, because it will be more difficult to carry and fit in a doorway once it is unrolled.

Awara Return Policy

Even with Awara's impressive warranty, some consumers are still a bit leery about buying a mattress through an online store when they haven't had a chance to try it out for themselves. Buying a mattress is a big investment, and you'll spend roughly one-third of your life on that mattress, so you need it to be comfortable.

To help consumers feel more at ease about buying a mattress they haven't tested or touched, Awara offers one of the most generous sleep trials in the industry. You'll have a 365-night risk-free trial, which means you can sleep on your new mattress for a year before deciding if you want to keep it or look for something else. Awara mentions how rare it is that someone decides to return one of their mattresses. Their high customer satisfaction rate is one of the reasons they are able to offer such a long sleep trial.

If you decide at the end of your trial that your Awara mattress isn't right for you, you'll be able to speak with one of Awara's Sleep Concierges to come up with a convenient way to remove your mattress so it can be disposed of locally or donated. If you ever have any issues with your Awara mattress, whether you need to return it or have a problem that needs to be addressed by the Forever Warranty, Awara offers outstanding customer service. They offer customers the ability to engage in a live chat with their employees on their website, and they also have a phone number customers can call if they'd rather speak on the telephone.

Awara is highly invested in ensuring you enjoy your new mattress, so they'll work hard to address any issue that comes up -- although the vast majority of their clients are happy with their new mattresses and decide to keep them.

Awara Financing Options

Awara wants everybody to experience the comfort and joy of sleeping on a great mattress. When your budget is tight, Awara knows that buying a new mattress isn't cheap, so they do offer financing options through Affirm. You can enter into a payment plan for three, six, or 12 months. To get started, you'll need to provide five pieces of information about yourself on Awara's website so that Affirm can determine if your creditworthiness meets their standards and what your annual percentage rate will be on the loan they offer to you.

If you're worried that your credit score will be negatively affected if you provide information to Affirm and then later decide not to finance your mattress through them, you don't need to be concerned. By providing information to them, you can determine your eligibility for a loan without affecting your credit. So, if you provide your information and see the APR will be higher than you are comfortable with, you can walk away without taking the loan and without hurting your credit score.

If you do decide to check your financing options through Affirm, you should know that your APR can be anywhere from zero to 30 percent, depending upon your credit score and any other factors they take into consideration. That's a big range when it comes to APRs, and you should be aware that if you're on the higher end of that scale, it will dramatically add to the overall cost of your mattress.

You also may be required to offer a down payment if Affirm feels your circumstances warrant it. You'll need to look over any financing options you have and decide if they are worth it to you or if you would rather try to save up enough for the mattress to buy it outright and avoid any costly financing fees.

Awara Warranties

Awara offers a generous warranty that's hard for any of its competitors to rival. While it's not uncommon to see a 10- or even 15-year warranty for mattresses, Awara blows that away with its Forever Warranty. Since it's an environmentally-friendly company, Awara wants to produce products that can be used for a lifetime, not just a decade or two. For that reason, it offers the Forever Warranty, which guarantees your mattress as long as you own it.

If you experience any defects with the mattress that are caused by the manufacturing process, such as a lot of sagging or breakdown, they'll repair or replace it and won't charge you a dime.

Compare Awara to Top Mattress Competitors

Awara offers excellent mattresses that feel comfortable and are made using natural materials. If you're wondering how they stack up to some other comparable mattresses, we've analyzed the differences.

Awara vs. Saatva:
Saatva mattresses offer various firmness options for people looking for a range of mattresses to choose from, while Awara sticks with its medium-firm hybrid mattress. Awara is better for those who want to give their mattress a long test run since it offers a 365-night trial period and Saatva only offers 180 nights.

Awara vs. Puffy:
Some side sleepers could find Puffy's foam mattresses more comfortable, while back and stomach sleepers will likely prefer the firmness level of Awara's mattresses. Also, Puffy's foam construction isn't ideal for heavier people. They'll get much more support from latex and coils than foam.

Awara vs. Leesa:
Leesa makes foam mattresses, which may be softer than Awara's mattresses, but won't offer as much support. In addition, Leesa mattresses only offer a 100-night trial and a 10-year warranty, much less than Awara's 365-night trial run and Forever Warranty.
