Sturdy, comfortable and great for travel
Now that I really understand all the features of this wheelchair I absolutely love it for my 94-year-old mother. I’m 66 and I was worried about getting something I could put in and out of a car and handle and this is perfect. She usually uses a walker at the senior living facility. I took her to a Tigers baseball game yesterday and she sat in this chair for the whole game and was very comfortable. I did purchase separately, a memory foam cushion and bag for the back of it for outings. My only complaint is they don’t give you many instructions on how to use it, which seems common in so many products nowadays.

I bought this expecting I would only need a wheelchair for a week or two so I wasn't looking for top quality. It's been two months and my wife is still not on her feet, so we've been using it daily. It's so much easier to manage than a 'big-wheel' chair. The frame is made to flex, so although the wheels are smaller, this chair rolls over uneven ground much easier than the big-wheel chair we had borrowed. It's really rugged and sturdy and the hand brakes make it much safer to negotiate hills. We have a small lake in the neighborhood with some steep hills on the footpath and a section of dirt path. This takes it in stride. It also folds into a package small enought to fit behind the seats of a Prius Prime with the footpads attached, so it's a breeze to transport. I would recommend it to anyone considering a transport wheelchair.

I bought this chair for my wife as we had a trip to Italy and she was having walking issues. I pushed her over cobblestone streets and miles of walking and the chair held up beautifully. The chair folds down nicely and is easy to carry around or load in a trunk. I would recommend purchasing a Velcro strap with a handle so when the chair is collapsed, you can secure with Velcro and use the handle to transport. The only recommendation is the removable foot pedals should secure when you fold them in. This makes it easy for the person to use this as a walker if not sitting.

Drive Medical EXP19LTBL Lightweight Expedition wheel chair is exactly what I've been looking for. Hubby has Parkinsons and while he is mobile with a walker he gets tired. We have a very sturdy rollator - Drive Nitro, but it doesn't have footrests. This model looked ideal for when he gets tired or the terrain is uneven. Took him to a museum yesterday and it was fine, however, it doesn't roll well on gravel or curbs with even the tiniest elevation - you have to step on the mechanism to lift it. Also, the plastic components make me nervous. I fear that one might break at an inopportune moment. Sad, because this is the most awesome transport chair ever. I would gladly pay several hundred dollars more. Positive features include comfort, portability, weight, rear breaks and break lock which enables my husband to get in and out of it safely, armrests that are high enough for a tall person, etc., etc. Sad that Drive went in this direction re: plastic parts and less than optimal materials. Hoping this chair lasts us through the end of the year or that Drive comes out with an identical model that is affordable and built to last. In the meantime, hoping that parts that do break can be replaced.

This was truly a Godsend. For the price we were nervous, but it has exceeded every expectation. The product was assembled in the box, the larger rear wheels make it easier for pushing and stability, and the seat was still comfortable even after long trips out. It folds down very easily and is lightweight so putting it in the trunk isn’t difficult. This is a highly recommended item!!!

I had purchased a used transport chair by Lifestyle for my mother after she broke her hip. She has Alzheimer's so using a traditional wheelchair was not an option as she prefers to scoot around using her feet. That chair eventually started falling apart - the foot brakes became loose, an arm rest broke off, and it just became dirty and dingy. This transport chair by Drive is a HUGE improvement. I love the spring-loaded locking hand brakes for transferring her and it's more maneuverable so the wheels don't catch on the corners of doorways and walls when she's scooting around the house. I also love how easily it folds down to a compact size and it's much lighter than the other chair so I can just throw it in the car trunk and go. This product was also about the same price as I paid for the used one so this is a big win for us. Great product - highly recommend!

I am very happy with my new Drive transport chair. This is my second Drive product. I have been using a Drive walker for over 10 years with no issues so, when I needed to replace my old transport chair, I went with Drive. My daughter's car is a Volkswagen and this chair even fits into the trunk easily. The larger back wheels make it easier to push. I am a large lady and this chair is comfortable to sit in. My old transport chair was not a Drive, it was difficult to push and uncomfortable to sit in. We only used it to get in and out of an office. I am looking forward to trips to museums and to shopping in stores that do not provide driving carts for disabled folks,

The transport chair shipped and arrived with 48 hours. The box was in good shape but when opened, I saw that there was no Styrofoam packing to protect the chair while in transport. It is wrapped in plastic.
It had some minor scrapes from shipping.
There really was no assembly required with the exception of putting the foot rests on and they easily pop into place. I can see where people complain about the back part staying in place. It took me a few tries to get it to snap into place. I am very skeptical about it staying in place. The plastic parts feel flimsy and my initial impression is they may easily break.
The size is good, I'm 5'5 and 220 lbs and I felt pretty comfortable in it (it's for Mom who is much smaller). The brakes seem to function well and being able to lock them is reassuring. The blue color is really nice!
I will update more after a few uses.

No assembly required! Footrests just clip on and off and lock nicely. Folds and unfolds fast. Doesn't weigh much. Doesn't cost much. Easy to attach enteral feeding pump and cupholder meant for bicycle handlebars. Can't complain. Okay, the brakes are kind of crappy. Okay, really crappy. For the mall, fine. For San Francisco...get chocks, or something better. Brakes should lock. For a "transport" chair, brakes should default ON, and squeezing the handles should release the brakes. There should be some way for the rider to brake. But I digress: a great chair for a small price. Amazon Prime got this to my door the next day. Love that, too.
