Why Choose Hungryroot?

Hungryroot is a grocery delivery service that’s designed to save you time and effort. But it’s not just a grocery delivery service as they also send you quick, easy, and nutritious yet delicious recipes to use with your groceries. Choose your subscription plan, and you’ll get groceries and recipes delivered to your door every week. You can choose your own foods or let Hungryroot create a menu for you.

How it Works

When you first sign up for Hungryroot, they’ll ask you a few questions to help you get started. Some of these questions include:

  • Number of people: Whether you want to feed yourself, two people, or three or more, you can select a plan that’s right for your household.
  • Dietary restrictions: You can choose a vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, dairy-free, soy-free, nut-free, peanut-free, or egg-free plan. If you have multiple restrictions, you can combine them. Alternatively, you can choose no restrictions whatsoever.
  • Amount of meals: Hungryroot will consider how much you eat in a given day: a meal, a snack, a meal and a snack, etc. They’ll also let you choose how many days’ worth of food they should deliver for each meal.
  • Personal preferences: Do you like sweets? Do you prefer cereal, fruit, or pancakes for breakfast? Salad, pasta, or stir-fry for dinner? These are just some of the types of questions you may be asked about your preferences. You’ll even be asked about your snack preferences.

Once you’ve chosen all your preferences, Hungryroot’s magic algorithm will generate a meal plan. This will be based on your earlier selections, but you can tweak how many servings they’ll send you for each meal or snack. By default, Hungryroot will choose a meal plan based on your answers to their questions. However, once you’ve checked out, you can choose specific meals instead of their suggestions.

Lunches and dinners are priced at $8.49 per serving, about the same as a fast food meal. However, you’re getting significantly better quality than you would from the land of the golden arches. Breakfast, snacks, and sweets are priced at $7.00 for 2 servings. You also get free shipping, so you don’t need to worry about that.

The Hungryroot Difference

So, what makes Hungryroot different from other meal delivery services? There are two primary benefits. First, you can truly customize your meal plan. You’re not limited to pre-determined plans that put you in a box. Each ingredient comes in its own packaging, so you don’t have to use their recipes if you don’t want to. Mix and match ingredients as you see fit to create a truly custom experience.

Second, all the ingredients are individually packaged, just like you’d find them at a grocery store. So if you want to switch things up and create your own recipes, you can. Plus, all of the packaging is recyclable. The box, dividers, and even the coolers can be recycled. Their ice packs are reusable, so you don’t have to throw those out either. So what are you waiting for? Give Hungryroot a shot!
